The series «The Hunt», a TVE project, chooses Mallorca to film its second season.

The CIR has met for the third time since it was established to mediate, through the Mallorca Film Commission, between the institutions and those responsible for this project promoted by TVE1 and produced by DLO Producciones.

The meeting was attended by several representatives of the Consell de Mallorca (Department of Highway Exploitation and Conservation, Insular Directorate of Tourism, in addition to Andreu Serra, the Executive Minister of Tourism and Sports), GOIB (Natural Space Services), the City Council from Valldemossa, from the local audiovisual sector (through the association The Base), from the Government Delegation, and from other organizations, such as AENA or the DGT.

During the meeting, Pablo Alejos and Reyes Baltanás (executive producers of the series) explained the project, revealing that the subtitle of the second season will be “ Tramuntana” (the 1st season was subtitled “Monte Perdido” ), and that will reflect characteristics of the island. Thus, during the broadcast, different Mallorcan landscapes, traditional festivals, gastronomy or native characters can be seen, as well as having local professionals in front of and behind the cameras.

The main issues discussed at the meeting have been those related to location management: how and where are shooting permits obtained, what kind of restrictions are there to film with drones or in natural spaces, or how far in advance they should be Start requests, among others. In this sense, Andreu Serra, Executive Minister of Tourism and Sports -and political head of the Mallorca Film Commission- has assured that “the audiovisual sector is a priority for Mallorca» and that through CIR «the drafting of a document will be launched that allows cataloging some filming of “Great General Interest”, which will give them administrative and economic advantages ».

The duration of filming, planned for the first half of the year 2020, will be approximately six weeks, and will generate direct benefits (hiring local professionals from the audiovisual sector), indirect benefits (derived from accommodation and the service sector), in addition to promoting an image from Mallorca different, mountainous, green, away from the typical sun and beach stamp.

It is worth remembering that the Insular Shooting Commission, promoted by the Mallorca Film Commission (Department of Tourism and Sports, Consell de Mallorca) was established on June 7, 2018 with the objective, precisely, of facilitating coordination between institutions on the subject of filming and work to promote the brand «Mallorca as a set of filming».
