It is a Gothic temple built on the shore of Palma’s Bay. It overlooks to the sea on the Roman and Renaissance walls that protected the city, and it is the only gothic cathedral that complies with this peculiarity.
In 1931 it was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument. It is the cathedral with the largest Gothic rosette in the world, the most original rose window of all European Gothic cathedrals and also one that the higher ship height between the European Gothic cathedrals.
